Steag solar platform enters Greece
Germany’s Steag Solar Energy Solutions (SENS) and its Austrian JV partner LSG Group have made a first move into the Greek market with the aim of developing up to 1GW of PV capacity.
The Wurzburg-headquartered developer and its Vienna-based collaborator are combining with funders Green Source and Core Value Capital to deliver the pipeline.
An initial 480MW tranche of projects are at an advanced state of development and are slated to enter construction from Q4 2022.
Combined with a slew of other earlier-stage projects, SENS LSG plans to build 25 Greek projects in total, spread across 12 project clusters.
SENS is meanwhile engaged in similar-sized ambitions elsewhere in Europe, with a 700MW partnership with KGAL underway in Sicily.
The group is also currently building a 144MW PV portfolio in Spain with local group Circle Energy.
