A local Italian developer and an international oil & gas group have secured planning approval for a 35MWp solar PV project in central Italy.
Gruppo Energic and Shell are understood to have been granted the planning permit for the Civita Castellana-located scheme in Lazio earlier in April.
The two partners are also co-developing a 133MWp solar PV project in Sicily.
Gruppo Energic has a further 1GW-plus pipeline of Italian solar PV projects at an earlier stage of development for which it is also looking to line up co-investment, it is understood.
