Developer-led PPA tender could offer new market blueprint
Germany’s BayWa last week announced its intention to initiate a corporate PPA tender in autumn 2022, with the company hailing it as a “turning point for the PPA market”. However, questions remain around whether potential counterparties will easily swallow a reversal of power procurement roles, as well as whether the move truly heralds a new dawn in renewables project development in Europe.
