Middle East shopping mall network Majid Al Futtaim and developer Yellow Door Energy have signed a deal which will see the latter group build a 17MW solar PV plant to power the former’s Carrefour stores across Jordan.
Jordan’s ministry of energy and mineral resources has approved technical bids from participants competing in the country’s third solar PV auction, which will see 150MW in capacity tendered out, while the most competitive financial offer on the table is well under half the price of the winning tariff from the previous auction in 2015.
